Nan Elizabeth Earnheart

Nan Elizabeth Driskell Earnheart was born December 2, 1927 to Chester and Nell McCann Driskell in Texas City, Texas. She married William Glen "Billie" Earnheart on June 9, 1956 in Texas City, Texas. She died November 5, 2014, at the age of 86, in Chesterfield, Missouri after an extended illness.

Nan was one of the last survivors of the 1947 Texas City, Texas disaster in which an explosion aboard the S.S. Grandcamp docked at Texas City triggered explosions throughout the port and industrial complex. The resulting destruction of which is considered by many to be the worst industrial tragedy in U.S. history. She and her family moved to Chesterfield, Missouri. She enjoyed many years of tennis and bowling and was a long time member of Parkway Baptist Church in Chesterfield.

She is survived by her son, William Glen Earnheart, Jr. and wife Angela of Knoxville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband William Glen "Billie" Earnheart; parents, Chester and Nell Driskell; and brother, Bobby Earl Driskell.

Graveside services will be held November 10, 2014 at 2:00pm at Oak Hill Cemetery, Whitewright, Texas. Rev. Dave Bradley will officiate the service.
