Mr. Leeander “Leon” Moore, Jr., age 85, of Princeton, Texas, passed away June 2, 2012, in Princeton. Mr. Moore was born December 9, 1926, in Franklin, Texas, to Leeander and Cordie (Cunningham) Moore, Sr. He married Latitia Laverne Jenkins on May 27, 1945, in San Diego, California. Mr. Moore was employed with Intercontinental in Garland for thirty-seven years retiring in 1987. He previously worked for General Dynamics in Ft. Worth, Texas. Mr. Moore served on the Princeton School Board from 1966-68. He also volunteered with Meals on Wheels in the Princeton area. Mr. Moore proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II serving in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Moore was a member of Princeton Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Laverne Moore of Princeton, Texas; sons, Dennis Moore and wife, Judy of Merit, Texas and Calvin Moore and wife, Janet of Prosper, Texas; daughter, Kathryn Stanley and husband, Steve of Garland, Texas; grandchildren, Jeff Moore and wife, Misty of Van, Texas, Darrell Moore and wife, Lori of Merit, Texas, Vance Moore and wife, Becky of Anna, Texas, Ron Henager and wife, Danielle of Royse City, Texas, and Lori Kelley of Crandall, Texas; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother, Cecil Moore and wife, Chrys of Pleasanton, Texas; sisters, Edna McMahon of Bremond, Texas and Juanita Collier and husband, Allen, of Austin, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Steven Moore, and brothers, James Moore, Tommy Moore, and Wesley Moore, and sister, Jewel Holmes.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday evening at the funeral home.
