Monty McCarley, age 70, of Blue Ridge, Texas, passed away on September 5, 2015, after an extensive battle of pneumonia. He was born December 29, 1944. Monty was married to his loving wife Brenda Johnson McCarley for forty-seven years. He retired from Texas Instruments after 30 years. Farming and spending time with the family were just few of his favorite past times. During the afternoon, he enjoyed sitting under the shade tree in his red Chevrolet pickup, relaxing and listening to George Jones as friends and family went by. He is remembered with love by his wife Brenda McCarley of Blue Ridge and their children: Wendell and his wife Tammy McCarley of Blue Ridge; and their children Colton and his wife McKenna, along with his two brothers, Shawn and Hunter; Michael and his wife Amy McCarley of Blue Ridge; and their children, Seth, Megan and Ashley; Angie and her husband Hank Rucker of McKinney; and their children, Kevin, Carley and Kaylee. Monty is preceded in death by his parents Eldon Ray McCarley and Frances McCarley; and sister Revlon Watts. A viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9^th at the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge and funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Shawn Bailey officiating. His final resting place will be Blue Ridge Cemetery.
