Monica Lynn Powell, age 35, of McKinney, Texas passed away July 11, 2010. She was born November 11, 1974, in Texarkana, Texas to Clay and Cindy (Cook) Powell. Monica attended McKinney High School, where she was an honor student and a member of the McKinney High School Band. She graduated from McKinney High School in 1993 and attended Collin County Community College. Monica worked for Honda Cars of McKinney and was a member of the Waddill Street Baptist Church in McKinney. She is survived by her parents Clay and Cindy Powell; and son, Bailey Powell all of McKinney; sister, Stephanie Holton and her husband, Nathan of Melissa, Texas; grandmother, Mary Jo Powell; and numerous loving aunts, uncles and other loving family member and many friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Madison Elaine Powell; and grandparents, E.W. Powell and Horace and Juanez Cook. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 15, 2010, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Dr. Woody Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
