Mr. Milton “Mitch” Harvey Mitchum Jr., age 81, of McKinney, Texas passed away January 11, 2007. He was born February 12, 1925 in Memphis, Tennessee to Milton Harvey Mitchum, Sr. and Anna Lou Grant Mitchum. Mr. Mitchum worked for El Paso Natural Gas Company for 35 years and was a member of the Lions Club, VFW and American Legion in El Paso and Midland, Texas. He proudly served in the United States Marines in Iwo Jima. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Mitchum of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Sandra Beard and husband, Ray of Munford, Tennessee; grandchildren, Paula Blayney and husband, Troy, Chris Britner and wife, Gloria, Roderick Britner, Stephen Britner, Lacey Stevenson, Joey Mitchum; great-grandchildren, Tre Blayney, Christopher Britner, Jr., McKenzie Mitchum, Michael Britner, Hannah Britner, Amorett Britner, Fayth Stevenson; sister, Barbara Hafner of Dallas, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sherry Stevenson and son, John Mitchum. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2007, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Danny Buster officiating. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
