Minetta Cotten, age 93, of Allen, Texas passed away April 3, 2013. She was born January 8, 1920 to Paul Caughey and Ima Gertrude (Mercer) Caughey in Big Spring, Texas. On August 1, 1941 she married Harold Leo Cotten in Sherman, Texas. Minetta worked for Owens Country Sausage for 30 years. She was a past member of the Eastern Star. Minetta was an officer at the Allen Senior Center. She was active in her community and First Baptist Church of Allen.
She is survived by her son, Ron E. Cotten of Allen, Texas; daughter, Connie Gidney of Allen, Texas; grandson, Chris Gidney of Allen, Texas; three nieces, three cousins, one nephew and her sister-in-law, Mary Keller of Enchanted Oaks, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Leo Cotten in 1990 and her mother, Ima Smith in 1997.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel.
Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
