Mrs. Mildred J. Smith, age 87, of McKinney, Texas passed away August 6, 2006, in McKinney. She was born July 4, 1919, in Princeton, Texas to Homer Kemp and Floyce Wilson Davidson. On August 28, 1935, she married Leroy W. Smith in McKinney, Texas. Mrs. Smith attended Texas Women’s University where she studied nursing. For over 30 years she managed several rental properties in McKinney with her husband and was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in McKinney. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Smith of Dallas; granddaughter, Susan Belmares of Plano, Texas; step granddaughters, Judy Lewis of Plano and Karen Hylton of South Bend, Indiana; great grandchildren, Layne Twist, Adam Deeb, Alexandra Belmares, Michael, Phillip and Sarah Lewis; sister, Miriam Dennison of McKinney; and numerous other loving relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy W. Smith and son, Kenneth W. Smith. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2006, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Tuesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
