Mrs. Mildred Evelyn Lindhorn, age 88, of McKinney, Texas passed away September 25, 2010. She was born January 8, 1922, in Rochelle, Texas to William J. and Ida Mae (Fisher) Lindhorn. On January 26, 1946, she married Paul H. Lindhorn, Jr. in California. She was a nursing home administrator. Mildred enjoyed traveling and dancing. She was a member of the Dance Club at the McKinney Senior Center. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia McClure and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Cyndi McConnell and husband, Shannon of LaFayette, Georgia, and Maj. Scott McClure, USAF of Sacramento, California; great grandchildren, Ryan and Catherine; brothers and sister, J.R. “Duke” McCartney and wife, Ann of Grandbury, Texas, Betty Phelps of Athens, Texas and Bobby McCartney and wife, Evelyn of Van Alstyne, Texas; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Lindhorn, Jr.; son, Rodney John Lindhorn; sisters, Velma Oliver, Mineola Sanders, and Opal Wheeless; and brothers, Garrell, L.V., Connie, Jack, and Willie Ray McCartney. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 30, 2010, at the St. Peter Episcopal Church in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 1, 2010, at the Cook-Walden Capital Park Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas. Mildred was a breast cancer survivor for many years. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
