Mrs. Mildred Bales Hampton, age 80, of Oviedo, Florida passed away June 14, 2007, at her residence. She was born May 16, 1927, in Raven, Virginia to Charles D. and Florie (Grimsley) Bales. On May 27, 1955, she married Elba Eugene Hampton in Norfolk, Virginia. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oviedo, Florida She is survived by her husband, Elba (Gene) Hampton of Oviedo, Florida; daughter, Judy Kerns and her husband, Michael Eugene of Plano, Texas; sons, Michael Eugene Hampton and his wife, Laura of Pittsburgh, PA and Terry Lynn Hampton and his wife, Holli of Levittown, PA; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby Swain of Johnson City, TN; brothers, Harold Bales of Norfolk, VA and Clarence Bales of Jacksonville, FL. Preceding her in death were her parents, Charles and Florie Bales. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2007, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Robert Matthews officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Wednesday to pay their respects and to sign the register book.
