Mildred “Dock” Ereckson, age 94, of Allen, Texas passed away February 5, 2011. She was born on November 24, 1916, in Friendship, Texas, to Bernard and Annie Ernestine (Cotter) Spurgin. On February 4, 1940 she married Edwin Lee Ereckson, in McKinney, Texas. Dock was of the Catholic faith. She is survived by her daughter, Sara Jane Rudd and husband John Pat of Goldthwaite, Texas; son, Lanny E. Ereckson and wife Charlotte of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Jan Baker of Seale, Alabama, Jeannie Ereckson of Allen, Texas, Jory Ereckson and wife Madelyne of Georgetown, Texas, Lana Fulkerson and husband Chuck of Rockwall, Texas, Kevin Rudd of Wichita, Kansas, Karen Rudd Gibbard of Goldthwaite, Texas; eleven great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Utsey of Plano, Texas; sister-in-law, Wanda Spurgin of Carrollton, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dock was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Ernie Spurgin; husband, Edwin Lee Ereckson; brothers, Elmo Spurgin, Malcomb Spurgin, James B. Spurgin; sisters, Mozelle Cirone, and Maurine Willis. Funeral services are being held on Monday, February 7, 2011, at 4:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow, in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Monday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.
