Michael Carlin Stanton

Michael Carlin Stanton, 31, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015. He was born on June 8, 1983 in Longview, Texas, son of Carlin and Jennifer Stanton and Dr. Robert and Sanong Hamilton.

Michael grew up in Longview, Texas. He graduated from Spring Hill High School in Longview in 2001. He loved football and was an all-around star athlete. After high school, he attended Louisiana Tech University, where he and his wife, Jennifer Reynolds Stanton met. He completed his Bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M, in Engineering in 2006, graduating with honors. He worked for Trane as a Sales Engineer for six years before taking a job as a Senior Account Manager with HTS for the past two years. Michael was a member of Bent Tree Bible church in Carrollton, Texas and looked forward to attending each Sunday.

Michael married Jennifer in 2008 in Shreveport, Louisiana. They were happily married for nearly seven years. Michael loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, golfing, fishing, and cooking a good steak. However, what he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family. He treasured the time he spent with his son, Tyler Michael Stanton. Coming home to Jennifer and Ty was his favorite part of the day.

Michael is survived by his wife, Jennifer, and his son, Ty, of Murphy, Texas; and his parents, Carlin and Jennifer Stanton and Dr. Robert and Sanong Hamilton; grandparents, Cecil and Nuey Saul, Ruby Stanton, Ann Hamilton, and Sharon and Wayne Franks; sisters, Kristi Bledsoe and husband Allan, Kari Malone and husband Matt, Madison Stanton, Morgan Stanton, Kyra Hamilton, Kayleigh Hamilton, and Anna Stanton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Elmer Stanton, Somruey Phrumjuntun, and Hugh Hamilton.

Michael’s approach to life is best described from his quote, “Life is meant to be lived right now and not always looking forward to a "one day." "To treat life as a gift.”
