IN LOVING MEMORY

Michael Paul Goolsby

Sep 12 1957 - Jan 31 2010

Michael Paul Goolsby, age 52, of Plano, Texas, passed from this life to the next on January 31, 2010 in his home surrounded by his closest family, including his children. Mike was born September 12, 1957, in Houston, Texas, to William Levi Goolsby, Jr. and Virginia Mae Kuhlman. He married Sharan René Leslie on November 2, 1980 in Houston, Texas. Mike has always been a phenomenal father, a genuinely great listener, a master craftsman, and a jack of all trades. He always said “Machinery is my friend.” Mike openly and honestly shared his love, especially his love for God, with all his heart and soul. He is a man who truly lived every moment, made the most of each day, and gave of himself to all who he encountered. He believed every hour a man spends fishing does not count against his days. Mike cherished every moment spent fishing, especially those with his loved ones. Mike is waiting for all of his family and friends to join him, including his wife Sharan; his children: Jennifer Rivera and her husband J.R., Michael Goolsby II and his wife Rebecca, Clint Goolsby and his wife Tessa; their children: Josiah James Rivera, Nehemiah Rey Rivera, and William Houston Goolsby; his mother Virginia; his mother and father-in-law, Marge and Ralph Hinds; his two sisters: Joyce Grams and Jerry Hymel; his brother David; his in-laws: Norman Hymel; Catherine Goolsby; and Tim and Debbie Leslie; his Godchildren: Jacob Kading Leslie, Amelia Elizabeth Leslie, and Zachary Glennan Leslie; and his other pallbearers Mark McKelvy and Sean Goolsby. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Pastor Tim Wade officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road SW, Suite 202C, Atlanta, GA 30047 or LBDA.org.
