Michael Barry Blackwell, age 66, of Denison, Texas passed away on August 13, 2013. He was born June 18, 1947, in McKinney, Texas to George Thomas and Fay Lou (Watson) Blackwell. Michael grew up in McKinney, Texas and graduated from McKinney High School in 1967. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Michael attended East Texas State University and Stephen F. Austin University. He lived in North Georgia where he worked in the logging industry and later, was an independent truck driver. Michael enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his mother, Fay Blackwell of McKinney, Texas; son, Michael Barry Blackwell, II of Michigan; sister, Brenda Brinsfield and husband Sol of Elgin, Texas; brother, Reggie Blackwell and wife Anita of Weatherford, Texas; several nieces and nephews; dear friend, Melba Morris; and a host of other loving family and friends from Georgia.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, George Thomas Blackwell.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, August 16, 2013 at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
