Melvin G. Francis, age 92, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away on December 23, 2015. He was born June 11, 1923, in Celina, Texas, to John Wesley and Eva Alice (Wolfe) Francis. Melvin proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He married Martha Sue Gibson, November 1, 1947 in McKinney, Texas. Melvin worked in the Remac Division of Sealed Power Corp., which was bought out by Everco Industries, and retired after many years of service. He was a member of the DFW Chapter Model T Club; and also a member of Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Dallas, Texas.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Francis of Frisco, Texas, Carolyn Halbert-Dailey and husband David of Carrollton, Texas; grandchildren, Tammy Unangst and husband Richard of Weatherford, Texas, Tiffani Roland and husband Dr. Keith Roland also of Weatherford, Texas, Jaeson Babb and wife Erica of Frisco, Texas, Trey Halbert of Austin, Texas, Amanda Babb of Frisco, Texas and Ryan “Mike” Francis of Las Vegas, Nevada; great-grandchildren, TJ Anguiano, Michelle Anguiano and Sloane Babb; brother, Keith Francis and wife Barbara of McKinney, Texas.
Melvin is preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley and Eva Alice Francis; wife, Martha Sue Francis; son, Michael Glenn Francis; brother, Marvin Francis; sisters, Juanita Maxson, Lexie Ray Mallone and Doris Francis.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
