Mrs. Melba Harrelson Terrell, age 87, of Allen, Texas passed away January 13, 2011, in Allen. She was born on November 13, 1923, in Princeton, Texas to Althie M. and Esther M. (West) Harrelson. Melba was a longtime member of Casa View Baptist Church in Dallas, where she worked in the children’s nursery for many years. After her move to Allen, she became a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. Melba proudly served as a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by her children, Gene Terrell and wife, Brenda, Steve Terrell and wife, Sally, and Brenda Summers and husband, Joel all of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Tracy Bowman, Kenneth Terrell, Stephanie Terrell, Aaron Terrell, Heather Russell and husband, Lee and Abby-Ann Summers; great grandchildren, Kevin Stamps and Brandon Tate; brother, B.P. Harrelson; aunt, Inabelle Harrelson; niece, Linda Joyce Lewis; nephew, B.D. Harrelson; sister-in-law, Cordie Mae Harrelson; and numerous other loving relatives and many friends. Melba was preceded in death by her parents and brother, J.D. Harrelson. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, January 17, 2011, at the Friendship Baptist Church, 270 Country Club Rd. in Allen with Rev. Lee Russell, Sr. and Pastor Gordon Illausky officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. The family wishes to especially thank the caregivers of Victoria Gardens in Allen, along with the volunteers at ACO and Meals-On-Wheels.
