Mr. Mel W. Friesenhahn, age 69, of McKinney, Texas passed away July 25, 2006, in McKinney. He was born November 15, 1936, in Selma, Texas to Martin and Alma (Stautzenberger) Friesenhahn. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and served his country in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. On August 20, 1957, he married Peggy Ann Ott in New Braunfels, Texas. Following the death of his wife, he met and married Sarah Huggins on March 4, 2000, in Plano, Texas. Mr. Friesenhahn was retired from LabOne. He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in McKinney. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Friesenhahn of McKinney; children Renee Cangemi of Garland, Texas, Lyle Friesenhahn and wife, Beckie of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, Yvette Oquin and husband, Troy of Trenton, Texas, Landry Friesenhahn and wife, Sandy of Allen, Texas and Michele Barton and husband, Lowell also of Allen; beloved dog, Maggie; 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Wilbur Friesenhahn and Clifford Friesenhahn both of San Antonio, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; brothers, Elton and Mathew and sister, Lydia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2006, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church with Father Greg Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Friday, with a prayer vigil at 7:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
