IN LOVING MEMORY

Mbombo Veronique Kadimashi

Jun 15 1946 - Sep 26 2015

Mbombo Veronique Kadimashi of Plano, Texas passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015, at the age of 70, from health complications.

From a young age, Maman Vero (as everyone called her) was always a high energy person who loved school.  While in high school at Luisha, Katanga DR Congo (also known as DRC), Africa, she won several prizes as an honor student. Maman Vero attended college and graduated in Pedagogy. She found her soul mate and partner for life at the age of eighteen, when she married the young, handsome Francois Mwamba from a nearby neighboring Likasi, Katanga. They founded several businesses from hotels to retail stores in Lubumbashi. They were the first ones in 1981 to create the Complexe Scolaire Le Bercail. This is a private school providing high quality curriculum and learning tools.  The school is still in operation today.

Le Complexe Scolaire Le Bercail is among the highest rated schools in DRC and has success in the annual state exams still today.

Many elite entrepreneurs in DRC are the fruits of this prestigious institution. Maman Vero has not been active in the school's affairs for over twenty years.  The changes in DRC and her health issues precipitated her stepping down as chairman in 1994. The family management team took over the management of the school while she and her husband moved to the United States of America to be closer to their children, grandchildren and medical reasons. In the last years of her life, she slowed down a bit, became limited in her mobility and a string of illnesses lead her in and out of hospitals for care. Her husband, children and grandchildren remained by her side through it all.

She is survived by her husband Francois Mwamba; six children, Jerry Mwamba, Yvette Mwamba, Arlette Mwamba Harrison, Eric Mwamba, Patrick Mwamba and Huguette Mwamba-Mpeye; twelve grandchildren, Joshua, Bryan, Djuma, Nicole, Jamal, Amaya, Jemima, Andraya, Jade, Tamara, Mikah and Muna; three daughters-in-law, Tatiana, Anne, Tracie; son-in-law Francis Mpeye; and siblings, Guillaume, Henry, Jean-Louis, Astrid, Pauline and Liliane.

Veronique was preceded in death by her father, Henri Kadimashi; mother, Nselela Banza; brothers, Firmin and Laurent; and her beloved sister, Julienne.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.  The family will receive friends during a visitation Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
