Mrs. Maye White, age 89, passed away January 3, 2010, in Plano, Texas. Maye was born on March 15, 1920, in Stop, Kentucky, to Finley and Lillie (Poe) Matthews. She married Donald Lee White on December 16, 1944, in Covington, Kentucky. While Mr. White was stationed in San Angelo, Texas, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps, Maye worked for the Department of the Air Force. Upon his discharge, they moved to Indiana and became the parents of Ron and Pam. They later moved to Florida and settled to Texas in 1965. Maye worked as a florist for 13 years at Biggerstaff Flowers while living in Plano. She was a member of West Allen Church of Christ. Maye loved her family. Maye is survived by her son, Ron White and his wife Vicky, of Parker, Texas; daughter, Pam Ryan and husband Mike, of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Jillian Ryan of Vienna, Virginia, Jennifer Ryan of Plano, Texas, Julianne Ryan of Plano, Texas; brother, Paul Matthews and wife Gaye of Newcastle, Indiana; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents, Finley and Lillie (Poe) Matthews, five brothers, and five sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Brother Jerry King and Brother Foy Vinson officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation held Tuesday night at 6:00p.m.
