Mattie M. Minix, age 82, of Allen, Texas, passed away July 10, 2014, in Allen. Mattie was born November 11, 1931, in Wolf County, Kentucky, to Barney and Sallie (Lee) Combs. She was a school teacher in Ohio for over twenty years. Mattie loved her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Tim Minix and wife, Brenda, of Lucas, Texas; grandson, Troy Minix of College Station, Texas; granddaughter, Amy Minix, also of College Station; brother, Wallace Combs and wife, Lois of Ohio; nephews, Rod Gabbard and Bill Gabbard; niece, Judy Tasell; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Herbert Minix, sisters, Eula Gabbard and Eva Amburgy, and brothers, Herbert Combs and Virgil Combs.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
