Mary Carolyn Young

May 12 1920 - Nov 02 2011

Mary Carolyn Young, age 91, of Plano, Texas, passed away November 2, 2011. She was born May 12, 1920 in McGill, Nevada to Leonard and Minnie McCloud. She was the youngest of their three children. Her youth was spent in Colorado City, Texas and Berkeley, California. She attended San Francisco State College for one year before she left school to marry Norman Young, “the man of her dreams”. They lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for several years until Norman was transferred to Salem, Oregon where they raised their two children. In 1967 they moved to Logan, Utah as a couple. While in Logan, Mary enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends, fishing in the Logan River, skiing and having her grandchildren visit every summer. She and Norman took their grandchildren on many camping trips in the Logan Canyon and Yellowstone. Norman preceded her in death in 1981 and Mary remained in Logan until 1996 when she moved to Plano, Texas. Mary is survived by her daughter, Carolyn A. Hall and son-in-law, John T. Hall of Plano, Texas; son, David F. Young and daughter-in-law, Carol L. Young of Corvallis, Oregon. She is also survived by six grandchildren, their spouses and 13 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Oregon. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
