Mary Beth Vinyard, age 64, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 3, 2008. She was a resident and business owner from Frisco, Texas - co-owner of the Babe's Chicken Dinner House chain with surviving husband, Paul Vinyard. Mary Beth Vinyard was the namesake "Babe" for whom the restaurants are named. She died at Baylor Regional Medical Center in Plano after a lenghty illness. Mary Beth was born on August 21, 1944 in Big Spring, Texas to parents Marie and Rev. James Boswell. Her father was a Methodist minister serving churches throughout much of West texas during Mary Beth's childhood and youth. Mary Beth was a music lover and talented pianist. She loved to play hymns and worship music and especially loved old christmas Carols. She graduated from Plainview High School in Plainview, Texas and attended McMurry College in Abilene. She married Paul Wren Vinyard in Abilene, Texas on January 23, 1964. Throughout their life together, Paul has worked in restaurant management and ownership. Those businesses have taken them from Abilene to Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Denver and eventually to the Dallas area. An avid homemaker, interior designer, and mother, Mary Beth was also a partner in the restaurant business, starting with the Bubba's Cooks Country restaurant in University Park. The family has since expanded with seven Babe's Chicken Dinner House restaurants in the Metroplex and Sweetie Pie's Ribeyes in Decatur. She was very active in the management of the family businesses and loved by the management team and employees. Through the business, Mary Beth touched numerous lives with her love and generosity. Mary Beth exemplified selfless compassion and love for all kinds of people. She is a strong Christian devoted to her family and all those around her. She is survived by her husband, Paul of Frisco, Texas; son, Joel Vinyard; daughter-in-law, Rachelle of Frisco, Texas; daughter, Tiffany Vinyard of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter, Mary Grace Vinyard of Frisco, Texas; grandson John Wren Vinyard of Frisco, Texas; mother, Marie Boswell of Clifton, Texas; brothers, Gene Boswell of the Colony, Texas and Terry Boswell of Trier, Germany and her sister, Tami Rohn of Lago Vista, Texas. Mary Beth was predeceased by her father, Rev. James Boswell. A Memorial Service was held on Monday, December 8, 2008 at Stonebriar Community Church, 4801 Legendary Drive, Frisco, Texas 75034 with Rev. Pete Deison from Park Cities Presbyterian Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow of Frisco.
