Mary Alice Thompson

Mary Alice Thompson was born on October 1, 1927 in Frisco, Texas and passed away on June 5, 2014 at 86 years of age following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. 

Alice graduated from Frisco High School in 1944 and was a member of the first Cheerleading Squad.  She designed and constructed the cheerleading uniforms out of “navy blue light wale corduroy” she retrieved from her mother’s sewing remnants.  Alice attended TWU for one year where she pursued her love for fashion design.  Alice married Jack Thompson on September 24, 1946 in the Little Chapel in the Woods on the TWU campus.

She was a devoted wife; mother; grandmother and a gifted seamstress.

Alice is survived by her children, Doug Thompson, Tracy McSpedden and husband, Rusty, Mark Thompson; grandchildren, Tyler and Jack Thompson, Katie, Molly and Hannah McSpedden, Justin and Parker Thompson; niece Debi Ford and nephew, Bob White.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Fannie White; husband, Jack Richard Thompson and her brother, James Orville White.

The family will receive friends at a visitation to be held from 6:30-8:30 PM on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco.  A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 9, 2014 at Baccus Cemetery in Plano.
