Mrs. Mary Frances Smiley, age 77, of McKinney, Texas, passed away June 3, 2006, at her home. She was born August 17, 1928, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to Gilbert and Nola (Williams) Nelson. On November 12, 1950, she married Sandy Smiley in McKinney. Mrs. Smiley graduated from E. S. Doty High School in 1947. She worked for McKinney I.S.D. a number of years as a bus monitor for Special Education children. She spent many hours volunteering in the community and served on the McKinney Neighborhood Services Improvement Committee. She participated and won many cooking and recipe contests. She was a lifelong member of St. James CME Church where she was very active. She is survived by her husband, Sandy Smiley of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Dr. Sheron Cuffee Johnson and her husband, Michael of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, R. L. Cuffee of Atlanta, Georgia, and Jared Johnson and Holland Johnson both of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Pauline Robinson and Sophia Nelson both of McKinney, Texas; Her parents and sister, Alene Johnson, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 10, 2006, at St. James CME Church with Rev. Winston Douglas, Pastor, St. James CME Church, and Rev. Larry Jagours officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., Friday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
