Mary Elizabeth Pirtle

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Pirtle, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother entered into the presence of the Lord on November 7, 2006. She was born March 14, 1918, in Telephone, Texas, to Henry Luther and Neva (Slagle) Morrison. On June 1, 1941, she married Wilson Pirtle in Telephone. Mrs. Pirtle graduated from East Texas State University and earned a master’s degree from Texas Tech. She was a teacher for Sundown ISD for 35 years. She is survived by her daughters, Sandy Mittelstet of Plano, Texas, and Kathy Clark and her husband, Howard of Memphis, Tennessee; grandchildren, Amy Mittelstet; Mandy Stuber and husband, Chad; Jonathan Clark and wife, Kendra; and Kaitlyn Clark; great grandchild, Andrew Stuber; brother, John Morrison; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson, and granddaughter, Kristen Clark; brothers, Elmer, Ike and Walter Morrison; and sisters, Cleo Fortner and Omer Welch. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 11, 2006, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Friday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Presbyterian Village North and Vitas Hospice.
