A memorial service for Mary Beth Nolen will be held July 9, 2014 at 1:00 p.m., Leonard Church of Christ, Leonard, Texas, with Charles Wrenn and Bob Lewis officiating. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held in the Fellowship Hall following the service. A private interment at the Leonard Cemetery will follow the visitation reception.

Mary Beth Nolen was mercifully called home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 24, 2014, during a short illness. Mary was a resident at Briarcliff Health Care Center, Greenville, TX for a short time, where she was lovingly cared for.

Those left to cherish her memory are: Mary Compton Golden and husband Billy of Bailey, TX, Lydia Compton Gipson and husband Jim of Tyler, TX., Mark Compton and wife Beverly of Memphis, TN., numerous Nolen cousins in the Leonard area. Mary was very proud of her Nolen name and her heritage in Leonard. She is also survived by a host of loyal friends who loved her and will miss her sweet smile.

Mary was preceded in death by her father Roy V. Nolen, mother Lizzie Darst Nolen and sister Anna Lois Nolen.

Mary Beth Nolen was born on August 12, 1943 to Roy and Lizzie Darst Nolen. She was born and raised in the Delba community where she was surrounded with the love and family history. After graduating from Leonard High School in 1962, she moved to Dallas to live with her beloved sister. Mary worked for a large insurance company in Dallas for 32 years. She was a lifetime member of Leonard Church of Christ. She returned to her home town of Leonard after her retirement, where she enjoyed many happy years with her friends and family. Her final years in Leonard were the happiest of her life. She loved her church and treasured the fellowship and friendship she had within her church. The church was very supportive of Mary in many ways.
