Mary Hill Malooly

Mary Hill Malooly, 84, passed away peacefully and was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, December 26th, 2012 in Plano, Texas. She was born Mary Elizabeth Hill in Austin, Texas, on February 10, 1928, daughter of Daniel Lafayette and Florence Peak Hill. She was a graduate of El Paso High School and attended the Texas College of Mines, completing her bachelors degree in Journalism at the University of Alabama, where she also earned a Masters degree in Journalism and Communications. She returned to El Paso and worked for several years at KTSM. She was active in many community and service organizations including the Delta Gamma Sorority, Mensa International, and the El Paso County Medical Auxiliary, where she served as president. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 41 years, the late Dr. Donald A. Malooly, an eminent physician. She was a member of the Prince of Peace church in Plano and the Queen of Peace church in El Paso.

She was a kind and loving mother to her children and a caring grandmother to her grandchildren. Mrs. Malooly is survived by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Malooly, Plano, TX; her son Donald Ellis Malooly, and his wife Becky, Allen, TX and her grandsons Daniel Coury Malooly, Donald Aaron Malooly, and Sean Nicholus Blas; her son Mark Coury Malooly and his wife Yong, Vienna, VA. Also seven nephews and six nieces.

She was preceded in death by three infant daughters; Angela, Celeste, and Katherine Anne Malooly.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held January 2, 2013 at 11AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in El Paso, TX. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 1PM. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, December 30, 2012, with a rosary beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Harding Orr McDaniel Funeral Home in El Paso.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to a favorite charity.
