Mary M. Vasquez Tackett, age 89, of Allen, Texas passed away October 28, 2009. She was born June 9, 1920 in Casa Grande, Arizona to Ricardo and Anita (Ayalia) Vasquez. She married George W. Tackett in 1937 in Casa Grande, Arizona. George and Mary moved to Oklahoma in 1950 where they spent most of their lives. She was an active member of the local VFW in Fort Townsend Oklahoma. Mary was a member of Midway Baptist Church in McKinney. She loved all outdoor activities and loved watching her grandchildren play sports. Mary dearly loved her entire family. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Wortham of Allen, Texas; sons, Howard Tackett and wife, Mary of Sadler, Texas, Kenneth Tackett and wife, Linda of Balch Springs, Texas; daughter, Brenda Hughes and husband, Kenneth of Hayworth, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great-grandchildren and numerous other loving family members and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ricardo and Anita Vasquez; husband, George W. Tackett; two brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Midway Baptist Church in McKinney, Texas with Rev. Ed Neal officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday October 31, 2009 at Holly Creek Cemetery, Oklahoma with Rev. Biddie Stout officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Friday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
