Mrs. Mary Louise Brown Lucius departed this life on August 18, 2004 after a battle with cancer. She was 45 years of age. Mary Louise was born in New Braunfels, Texas. She attended Southwest Texas University and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in December 1981. Mary married Stephen Brown and moved to Dallas in 1990. Stephen preceded her in death. Mary Louise worked in Telecommunications as an administrative assistant in the Dallas metroplex. She also pursued cattle ranching in Central Texas with her family. Mary Louise married Edward Lucius on February 28, 2004. They have one child, Keri Lynn Lucius. They have three other children from previous marriages: Jennifer Cooper of Millbrook, Alabama, Jason and Stephanie Lucius, both of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Her mother, Connie Laird, one brother, Edgar Laird, Jr., her grandmother, Louise Leifeste who died at age 95, precede Mary Louise in death. Her husband, Edward Lucius of Richardson and their daughter, Keri Lucius survive her. Mary’s father and his wife, Edgar and Judith Laird of San Marcos and her brother, Brennis Laird of San Marcos survive her. Edward’s parents, Mark and Betty Edwards of Garland also survive her. Mary’s maternal grandfather, Elmer Leifeste, survives her as well as numerous other friends and relatives. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 21, 2004 at Epiphany Episcopal Church in Richardson. Interment will be at San Marcos Cemetery in San Marcos, Texas.
