Mary Jane Haupt, age 82, of Plano, Texas, passed away April 8, 2012. Mary was born January 24, 1930, in Davenport, Iowa, to Edward and Madge (Terry) Winter. She married Dennis C. Haupt in 1950 in Davenport, Iowa.
Mary moved to Anaheim, California in 1956 with her husband to pursue new opportunities. She lived there until she and Denny moved to Minneapolis, MN in 1973. From there they moved to Phoenix, Arizona for a couple of years and then back Riverside, California in 1980 to a golfing community. There she became an avid golfer and won many tournaments and trophies. She moved to Plano, Texas in 2004 where she became a volunteer at the Plano Medical Center. She made many friends throughout her life, enjoyed playing cards, liked to travel, watch movies and just enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved being around her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Jan Haupt of Peoria, Arizona, Sally Hendricks and husband, Tim of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, and Lyn Graley and husband, Gary of Plano, Texas; son, Jack Haupt of Long Beach, California; granddaughters, Shannon Anguiano and husband, Carlo, Kelly Backlund and husband, Cliff, Kristin Schaaf and husband, Greg, and Nicole Haupt; grandsons, Michael Haupt and wife, Sonia, Derrick Haupt, Jake Hendricks, Justin Hendricks, and Joe Hendricks; great-grandchildren, Cayla, Madison, Marissa, Harrison, Mia, Max, Gavin, and Avery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Denny Haupt.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen.
