Mary Fay Ernst, age 87, of Plano, Texas, passed away on November 3, 2011, in Conroe, Texas. She was born August 15, 1924, in Davis, Oklahoma, to Thomas P. and Myrtle (Brisco) Harmon. On May 20, 1944, she married Fred Douglas Ernst, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Mary was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Allen, Texas, and was very active in the Senior Ministry. She also enjoyed having the Church Youth Group over for their Christmas Party. Mary was a prolific writer and loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Ernst and wife Sherry of Conroe, Texas, daughter, Karon Phelps and husband Ralph of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Alicia Ernst and Cory Ernst, both of Alabama, Jonathan Phelps and wife Rachel of Murphy, Texas, Christopher Phelps of New York City; great-grandchildren, Kristen, Britany, and William Ernst; sister, Lucile Chaves of Washington, D.C.; brothers, Junior Harmon of Oklahoma, and Paul Harmon of Kaufman, Texas; and many other loving family members and friends. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Ernst; parents, Tom and Myrtle Harmon; sister, Eva Rivers; and brothers, Tomie, Norman, and Raymon Harmon. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas, with Rev. Jeff Box officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening, beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow.
