Mary Courtney Brymer, age 86 of Frisco, Texas passed away on May 25, 2012 in Frisco. She was born on July 11, 1925 in Mount Lebanon, Louisiana to Melton F. and Letha (Levins) Courtney. Mary married James B. Brymer, Jr. on October 31, 1948 in Mount Lebanon.

Mary graduated from Louisiana Tech in 1945 where she served as Class Vice President and President of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She worked as a secretary for Humble Oil, Houston, Texas 1945-46, the Fluor Corporation, Houston, Texas 1946-1952, a teacher in the Spring Branch School System, Houston, Texas 1958- 1961, a teacher in the Jefferson Parish School System, Metairie, Louisiana 1961-1962 and 1966-1967, a teacher and School Administrator at Greenlawn Terrace, Kenner, Louisiana 1970-1984, a teacher at St. Martin’s Episcopal School, Metairie, Louisiana 1962-1966 and 1967-1970. Mary was also a member of DAR Longleaf Chapter of Ruston, Louisiana.

Mary is survived by her Son, Daniel L. Brymer and Melody Hatcher of Marianna, Florida; daughter, Mary Ann Monnin and husband, Edward B. Monnin III of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Adam Wesley Brymer, James Andrew Brymer, Brayn Edward Monnin and Alexa Claire Monnin; sister, Barbara Land of Ruston, Louisiana; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Bryant Brymer; Jr.; son, James Bryant Brymer III; brothers, Jack Courtney and Edwin Courtney. The family will receive friends during a Visitation to be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home on Saturday, May 26, 2012 from 4-6 PM. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Mary’s name to St. Matthews United Methodist Church, 6017 Camphor Street, Metairie, Louisiana 70003.
