Marvin Turner was born June 9, 1930 at Waco, Texas to Guy Emory Turner and Ida Mae Connolly Turner. He married Lovera Bass on November 24, 1955 in Whitewright, Texas. He served his nation in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Baptist faith. He died at his residence surrounded by his family on September 28, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Lovera Turner of Whitewright; daughter, Belinda Martin of Whitewright; son, Ronald Turner and wife Rena of Whitewright; son, Jimmy Turner and wife Ruth of Canton; grandchildren,; Lacci Martin of Whitewright; Rusty Turner of Whitewright; Roni Hamm of Tom Bean; Jessica Turner of Canton; Kimberly Turner of Canton; great-grandchildren,; Ramey and Rhett Turner of Whitewright; Bailey Perkins of Tom Bean; Patrick and Radley Hamm of Tom Bean; sister, Louise Kane of Irving; sister, Geraldine Redling of Bells; brother, Tommy Ray Turner of Bowie; He was preceded in death by; his parent; brother Guy Turner, Jr.; sister, Doris Norris; and sister Juanita Turner. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, October 2, 2009 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, Whitewright, Texas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Houston Garner. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Whitewright, Texas. Pallbearers will be Lacci Martin, Rusty Turner, Roni Hamm, Jessica Turner, Kimberly Turner, Casey Hicks, Chad Long, and Ryan Hamm. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Thursday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday, October 1, 2009 from 6-8pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Whitewright, Texas.
