Marva Dean Simmons, age 71, of Celina, Texas, passed away November 13, 2008, in Weston, Texas. Marva was born November 24, 1936, in Dangerfield, Texas, to Loy and Tessie (Smith) Montgomery. She married Coy Simmons, Jr. on June 25, 1959 in McKinney, Texas. Marva was a member of Rock Island Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Coy Simmons, Jr., of Celina; children, Ricky Simmons and wife, Rolena, of Celina, Victor Simmons and wife, Vanessa, of Celina, Cinthia Armstead and husband, Ali, of Mansfield, Gregory Simmons, of Celina, Ronnie Simmons, of Celina, David Simmons and wife, Gwen of Sherman, Texas and Joshua Terry, of Celina; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Laverne Montgomery, Loy Montgomery, Jr., Betty Montgomery Glover, Eva Jimmerson, and Loy Elvin Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Loy and Tessie Montgomery. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 15, 2008, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Pastor Eric Simmons officiating. Interment will follow Ridgeview Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Friday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.
