Martha Palla, age 71, of Plano, Texas, passed away April 8, 2009, in Plano. Martha was born on June 27, 1937 in Thrall, Texas to Clorice Elbert and Mary Ellen Jordan Stanford. On July 18, 1959, she married Franklin Delano Palla, Sr. in Georgetown, Texas. She was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She is survived by her husband, Franklin D. Palla of Plano; son, Franklin D. Palla, Jr. and his wife, Sara of Allen, Texas; daughters, Peggy Palla Rape and husband, Gary of Plano and Sharon Marples and husband, Jon of Allen; grandchildren, Ashley and Zach Palla, Ben, Kyle and Reese Marples and Marshall Rape; brother, John David Stanford and wife, Henri of Leander, Texas; sisters, Linda Petterson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Anna Beth Herzer and husband, John of Austin, Texas, Karen “Kay” Krieg and husband, Will “Shorty” of New Braunfels, Texas and Judy Gustafson and husband, Darrell of Taylor, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Clifford Stanford in 1963; and granddaughter, Caleigh Madison Palla in 1995. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 13, 2009, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
