Martha Nell Lowry, age 85 of University Park, Texas passed away April 12, 2015 in Richardson, Texas. She was born August 22, 1929 in Leonard, Texas to Eddie Curtis and Rene Alberta (Starnes) Ferguson. Martha grew up in Leonard, Texas and graduated from Leonard High School in 1947. She worked for Dallas County Tax Office in Richardson, Texas for twenty-five years. Martha enjoyed gardening, watching Dallas Cowboys football and she especially enjoyed her cats. She married Richard J. Lowry August 2, 1950 in Dallas, Texas.
She is survived by her daughter, Leslie Whitmore and husband Fred of Richardson, Texas; grandchildren, Luke Whitmore and Katie Whitmore; great-grandchildren, Jaina Amaloo and Tobin Amaloo; sister, Mary Baker.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lowry; daughter, Linde Lowry; parents, Curtis and Alberta Ferguson; brothers, Gene Ferguson and Johnny Ferguson.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
