Mark “ Dawson ” Hunt, age 7, of Van Alstyne , Texas passed away April 22, 2011. Dawson was born June 12, 2003 in Plano , Texas to Mark Hunt and Laura Michelle (Tate) Hunt. He is survived by his parents, Mark and Laura Hunt of Van Alstyne, Texas; siblings, Alexa Hunt, Tatum Hunt, J.D. Hunt, Marissa Hunt and Jessica Applegate; grandparents, Raymond and Letha Tate of Van Alstyne, Texas and Laurel Hunt of Mesquite, Texas; great-grandmother, Lillian Tate of Van Alstyne, Texas; uncle, Clay Tate of Tom Bean, Texas; great-aunt, Donna McKinnon of Van Alstyne, Texas. The family would like to thank friends, co-workers, nurses, doctors, other family members, and our prayer warriors that helped along this journey. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church , Van Alstyne with Rev. Glen Blackmon and Rev. Gary Mueller officiating. Interment will follow at Van Alstyne Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen , Texas . Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church (Van Alstyne) Children's Ministry.
