Marilyn J. (Lynn) Maxwell of McKinney, TX left us on Wednesday, February 2. Marilyn was born to Gladys Marie Fisher and Merton Cecil Towne Fisher in Chicago, IL on July 4, 1928. Marilyn attended Hitch Elementary School and graduated from Taft High School in Chicago, IL. She then attended Northwestern University and the Chicago Institute of Art. Marilyn was an actress and model with the Model’s Bureau Agency in Chicago, and then the Tonya Blair Agency in Dallas. Marilyn worked on the TV show “Dallas”, and was a convention narrator and model. One of her favorite assignments was appearing as a “Tucker Girl” at the introduction of the Tucker automobile. She was also a co-founder of McCartney-Gray Advertising. As a mother and community volunteer, Marilyn was a leader in the Junior Women’s Club in Des Plaines, IL. After moving to Farmers Branch, TX in 1968, Marilyn was active in The Civic League and PTA, and served as President of the Farmers Branch Women’s Club. After moving to McKinney in 1999, Marilyn volunteered at the Heard Museum. Marilyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church in McKinney where she was a member of the Fellowship Class. She also enjoyed volunteering with Books for the Blind. Surviving Marilyn are her husband, Carroll H. Maxwell of McKinney; children, Cathleen Frederickson and husband, Chris of Galveston, TX, Patty Mae Campbell and husband, Harry of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Alice Cromwell and husband, David of Dallas, TX, Carroll (Max) Maxwell, III and wife, Carrie of Dallas, TX, Karen Maxwell Foyle of Dripping Springs, TX, Bill Clowers of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Isabel Frederickson of Galveston, TX, Melissa Clark and husband, Scott of Austin, TX, Michael Campbell of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Emily Cromwell of Dallas, TX, Nicholas Cromwell of Dallas, TX, Carroll (Bud) Maxwell, IV of Flagler Beach, FL, Logan Maxwell of Flagler Beach, FL, Makenzey Levins of Dallas, TX, Taelor Levins of Dallas, TX, Dylan Foyle of Dripping Springs, TX, Caroline Foyle of Dripping Springs, TX, Tyler Foyle of Dripping Springs, TX, Kailee Foyle of Dripping Springs, TX; sister, Wandalyn Walls of River Forest, IL; great-granddaughter, Nealon Clark of Austin, TX, and nephews, Chuck Kucharik and wife, Patty of Orlando, FL, Ron Kucharik and wife, Karen of Phoenix, AZ, and Larry Kucharik and wife, Kitty of Oak Park, IL. Marilyn was a thoughtful, caring, beautiful lady who touched many hearts & brought joy to everyone around her. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church of McKinney.
