Marilyn Agnes Long, age 87, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2013. She was born July 11, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to Andrew R. and Marion (Pryor) Slight. On December 27, 1956, Marilyn married Robert Coulter Long in Cold Spring, Minnesota. She grew up in Cold Spring, where she attended schools and earned her teaching degree from The College of St. Benedict; she taught in the Dallas area. Marilyn enjoyed sewing, puzzles, playing tennis and was an avid bridge player. She loved spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her grand-puppies. Marilyn also cherished the time she spent with her husband and children at the beach.

She is survived by her children, Andy Long and wife Sharon of Garland, Texas, Mary Fodor and husband Brian of Naperville, Illinois, Patty Williams and husband Rusty of Shady Shores, Texas and Susan Long of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Mark Taylor, Jason Long and wife Sydney, Taylor Fodor and fiancé, Katie White, Zachary Fodor and wife Brooke Marie, Casey, Cayla and Blake Williams; great-grandchild, Brody Michael Long; and sister, Joan Provencio of Woodstock, Illinois.    

Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Coulter Long and parents, Andrew and Marion Slight.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, in Allen, Texas. Inurnment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
