Marilyn Jeanne Gilmore, age 69, of Plano, Texas, passed away October 2, 2013, in Plano. Marilyn was born June 21, 1944, in Edinburg, Texas, to William Emanuel and Mary Madeline (Teetaert) Rogers. She married Douglas Gilmore on June 10, 1967, in Edinburg. Marilyn loved her family dearly and was a doting and bragging grandmother. She was a loving, giving, faithful wife and mother who was lucky enough to call her husband her best friend. Marilyn was kind-hearted, compassionate, and sweet-tempered and had only words of encouragement when someone needed it. She never met a stranger and would stop and talk to anyone that would listen. Marilyn loved her God and was devout in her faith.

She is survived by her husband, Doug Gilmore, of Plano, Texas; daughters, Brenda Duke and husband, Tom and Becky Bennett and husband, Darren, both of Martinez, Georgia; son, Bryan Gilmore and wife, Sarah of Franklin, Tennessee; grandsons, Colby Duke, Caleb Duke, Connor Duke, all of Martinez, Georgia, Hayden Gilmore and Carter Gilmore, both of Franklin, Tennessee, Chris Bennett and wife, Courtney of Garland, Texas; granddaughters, Brittany Bennett, Madison Bennett, Lauren Bennett, Megan Bennett, and Carlie Duke, all of Martinez, Georgia; sister, Dorothy Ann Leidner of Edinburg, Texas; brother, Bob Rogers and wife, Joan of Victoria, Texas; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 7, 2013, at St. Mark Catholic Church in Plano, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. A rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen. A visitation will be held following the rosary.
