Maria Guadalupe Soto, age 82, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on February 27, 2012. She was born March 25, 1929, in La Feria, Texas, to Francisco and Herminia (Cuevas) Flores. On April 14, 1966, Maria married Manuel Soto in McKinney, Texas. She grew up in Texas, in the valley. Maria worked for over ten years at Haggar and then became a housewife. She loved sewing and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Ignacio Soto and wife Terri Soto of Arlington, Texas, Rudy Soto and wife Misty Soto of Anna, Texas; grandchildren, Anita Rangel, Kandace Quintanilla, D.J. Quintanilla, Patricia Soto, Dustin Soto, Donna Fikes, Kelly Calhoun, Ignacio Soto, Jr., Aven Soto; great-grandchildren, Beatriz Rangel, Gladys Rangel, Eduardo Rangel, Benito M. Quintanilla, Alexander Quintanilla, Matthew Poulson, Chloe Johnson and Ryan Richardson; three brothers; four sisters; a number of other family and friends.
Maria is preceded in death by her, parents, husband and son, David Quintanilla.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 2, 2012, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening, beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow, Allen, Texas.
