Maria Dolores Martinez Betancourt, age 71, of McKinney, Texas, passed away November 20, 2012, in McKinney. Maria was born February 15, 1941, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, to Amado and Maria Del Carmen (Hernandez) Betancourt. She graduated with an accounting degree in Mexico. Her family came to the United States in 1979 and lived in College Station, Texas for more than twenty years. They later moved to the Dallas area in 2001. She was a very hard worker and had a wonderful work ethic. Maria was a very caring person who loved music, loved to dance, and especially loved to joke around with others. She loved her family very much.
She is survived by her son, Cesar Martinez Betancourt and wife, Julie of Allen, Texas; daughters, Araceli Becker and husband, Matthew of Houston, Texas, Rocio Flores and husband, Ramiro of McKinney, Texas, and Nelly Johnson and husband, Dwayne, also of McKinney; ten grandchildren; brothers, Victor Amado Betancourt Dimas, Guillermo Betancourt Dimas, Antonio Betancourt Dimas, Arturo R. Betancourt Dimas, Ricardo Betancourt Dimas, and Miguel Betancourt Dimas, all of Mexico; and sisters, Delia Betancourt Dimas, Maria Guadalupe Lopez Betancourt Dimas, Irma Graciela Betancourt Dimas, Juana Maria Betancourt Dimas, and Martha Leticia Betancourt Dimas, all of Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, November 24, 2012, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in McKinney, Texas with Father Arthur Unachukwu officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., Friday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m.
