Marge Ellis, age 83, of Waco, Texas, formerly of Houston, Texas, passed away October 28, 2008, in McKinney, Texas. Marge was born February 12, 1925, in Houston, Texas, to Clyde C. and Willie V. (Cox) Clayton, Sr. She married Robert A. Ellis, Jr. on October 7, 1945, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Following World War II, Bob and Marge returned to Houston where they owned and operated Clayton Tire Company and were active members of South Main Baptist Church. Marge was a member of the Historic Waco Foundation and Baylor University Alumni Association and did volunteer work for the Waco Symphony, Meals on Wheels, and American Cancer Society. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Waco, Texas. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Cox and husband, Randy of Waco, Texas and Peggy Roberts of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Ashley Canuteson and husband, Wade, Jeffrey Paul, Justin Cox, Kelly Thompson and husband, Aaron, Jenny Clines, Brian Roberts, Blake Roberts; great-grandchildren, Zane and Zoey Canuteson; and other nieces, nephews, and loving relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Clyde Clayton, Jr., and son-in-law, Jeff Roberts. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baylor Alumni Association, One Bear Place #97116, Waco, Texas, 76798-7116 or to Robert A. Ellis, Jr. Athletic Scholarship, One Bear Place #97026, Baylor University, Waco, TX, 76798-7026, the Historic Waco Foundation, or the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 3, 2008, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
