Margaret Ruth Tilton

Mrs. Margaret Ruth Gibson Tilton of Plano, Texas, age 84, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2006, in Plano. She was born in Melissa, Texas on September 23, 1922, to parents William Marvin and Mary (Chambers) Gibson. After graduating from McKinney High School, Margaret went on to The Nurses Home as a student nurse with McKinney City Hospital School of Nursing. On June 17, 1945, Margaret married Clyde Tilton in Anna, Texas and was married to him for nearly 50 years. She worked for the City of McKinney Health Department as a public health nurse, as a school nurse for Richardson Independent School District and Lexington Academy, and as a private duty nurse to many of Collin County's finest. Margaret belonged to the First Baptist Church of Richardson where she was a proud member of Fidelis Sunday School, spending many full and rich moments with lasting friendships and Bible study. She is survived by her sons, Rev. Robert Tilton and wife Maria of Miami Beach, Florida; James Tilton of Plano, Texas; daughter, Kathryn Higgs of San Clemente, California; grandchildren, Amy Tilton Kushnir (Bill), Jonathan Tilton (Diane), Marcus and Matthew Tilton, Katy Higgs Schaefer (Justin), Maggie Higgs, Aaron and Lauren Tilton; great-grandchildren, Reagan, Jackson, Makena and Dakota Rose and Jake Christian (to come); brother, Bill Gibson (Kay) of Salt Lake City, Utah; sisters, Marion Wysong of Melissa, Texas, Frances Waller of Melissa, Texas and Jean Jernigan (Jack) of Melissa, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and family members. Preceding her in death were her husband, Clyde Tilton; parents; sister, Doris Gibson and brother, John Gibson, sister in-law Montine Wisdom and son-in law Bolin Higgs and many more loving family and friends Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, October 20, 2006, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Brian Harbour and Rev. Robert Tilton officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Blue Ridge, Texas. The family will receive friends from 7- 9 PM Thursday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow.
