IN LOVING MEMORY

Margaret Ann Johnson Nichols

Sep 22 1966 - Dec 07 2013

Margaret Ann Johnson Nichols of Plano, Texas, age 47, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, December 7th.  She fought hard to live as long as she could for her children.

She was born on September 22nd, 1966 in Dallas, Texas to Virginia “Jima” Morgan Johnson and Howard Edwin Johnson, Sr.  Margaret began living her life to the fullest as a young girl, participating in extraordinary activities, such as barrel racing, dancing, pageants.  She graduated from Plano East Senior High School in 1985.  She majored in Business at Texas Tech and went on to graduate from The University North Texas.  Margaret continued to model Couture Wedding Gowns even into her forties.  Many know her as Miss Texas 1992, but the role she loved and most notable accolade to her was serving as mother to her two adoring children.

Margaret married Rex Nichols on 9/20/2000 after his intense pursuit.  He loved her fully and did anything to help her to  live life to the fullest. For Margaret, family came first.  She was devoted to raising her two children, Elizabeth and John to be strong, God-centered individuals. As Elizabeth remembers her mom, she says that she was "kind and caring lover of God". Her favorite trip with her mom was with her brother, John, to New York.  Elizabeth got appendicitis and they spent a week in the hospital making tents, pretending they were camping.  Elizabeth's favorite thing to do with her mom was going to see movies, staying up late, and going to get their nails done.  John remembers painting pictures, camping in their backyard and singing with his mom.  Margaret taught Elizabeth and John that they could be anything that they want to be.

Margaret's favorite scripture Philippians 4:13. "I can do all this through him who gives me strength." Through this scripture Margaret believed she could face anything because of her trust in her Lord.... and she never lost faith.

Margaret loved to travel, sing, dance, and spent a large portion of her career in the fashion industry.   She exposed her children to many places all over the World.

Her lively spirit and fierce love of God lead her to be an amazing daughter, sister, friend, wife, and mother.  She was incredibly deliberate in all of her relationships.

Margaret leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her husband Rex Nichols, daughter, Elizabeth, and son, John of Plano; her parents, Howard and Virginia Johnson of Murphy; a sister, Debbi Johnson (Michael) of McKinney; a brother, Howie Johnson (Sarah) of Houston; and a niece, Katelyn Laster of McKinney.  Margaret was blessed with a large family full of love and constant encouragement.  The Matriarch of the family, Augusta Mae Morgan, passed away in April of 2012.  Margaret joins her grandmother as they leave behind 19 aunts and uncles and 21 cousins whom she loved so deeply.

She was preceded in death by her Grandparents; Sam Pole and Augusta Mae Morgan of Sturgis, Mississippi, and Howard William and Margaret Ann Johnson of Chicago, Illinois, her uncle; Walter Cecil Harrison Jr. of New Albany, Mississippi, and uncle; Naxey Davis of Celeste, Texas.

She leaves a legacy that will be forever remembered.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Elevate Life Church, 8500 Teel Parkway, Frisco, Texas, 75034. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
