IN LOVING MEMORY

Margaret Emily Hood

Oct 08 1915 - Aug 29 2015

Margaret Emily Hood passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord on Saturday, August 29, 2015, five and a half weeks before her 100th birthday.  She was living with her daughter, Trish, and her husband, Jim Allen. Margaret was born in Cheraw, CO, to Oscar and Florence Enderud on October 8, 1915, and met and married Leo G. Hood of La Junta, CO.   He preceded her in death, having passed away February 12, 1980.  They lived in Englewood CO, for most of their life together. Margaret had a long career as executive secretary at Englewood State Bank which later became Continental National Bank. They were active participants in First Christian Church and later at Calvary Temple.

She is survived by her four children:  Mike (Glenda) Hood (Vacaville, CA), Trish (Jim) Allen (Allen, TX), Margaret (Glenn) Jay (Tigard, OR) and Jim (Lani) Hood (Aurora, CO).  She was also much loved by 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

In 1991, she moved to Oregon to be near her daughter, Margaret, and family who lovingly helped care for her until June of this year.  Margaret’s last years in Portland were spent in Assisted Living at Hearthstone at Murrayhill in Beaverton, where she developed many friends and a reputation for her shoe collection and big smile.

Upon moving to Texas, she immediately joined her family at Allen Bible Church where she quickly connected with many people even though, “I just can’t remember names anymore.” was her frustration.

She will be sorely missed, but her family and friends rejoice in the confident assurance of her being with her Savior in Heaven.

Interment will be next to her husband in the Fort Logan Military Cemetery in Denver, CO. In lieu of flowers, please take time to show love and kindness to an elderly person in your life.
