Margaret Agatha Fincher

Margaret Agatha Fincher of McKinney, Texas passed away December 22, 2015 at the age of 96. She was born November 13, 1919 to Jack Burns and Lillie (Shirk) Burns in Terrell, Texas. Margaret married Leo Fincher on April 13, 1940 in Dallas, Texas. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in McKinney. Margaret had a servant’s heart. She was room mother for David and Elayne, volunteered to rock babies at Parkland, taught young Hispanic girls to sew at the Merillac Center in Dallas and mentored elementary students in Carrollton. Margaret served as the hands and feet of Jesus.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Elayne Matson and husband George of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Joel Fincher of Fort Worth, Texas, Monica Matson Carrington of McKinney, Texas, and Megan Matson Eckenrode also of McKinney; great-grandchildren, Bryson Taylor, Matson Taylor, Preston Taylor, Madilyn Eckenrode, Emily Kate Eckenrode, Allie Ray Eckenrode all of McKinney.

She was preceded in death by husband and son, David Fincher.

A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 15, 2016 at St. Gabriel the Archangel, 110 Saint Gabriel Way, McKinney, Texas. Interment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas.

Memorials may be given in Margaret’s honor to St. Gabriel Raising the Walls P.L.U.S. Campaign, St. Gabriel the Archangel, 110 Saint Gabriel Way, McKinney, Texas 75071.
