Marcia Lee Blackburn

Marcia Lee Blackburn of Plano, Texas passed away January 29, 2015 at the age of 75. She was born July 6, 1939 to Albert Jay and Ethel Ann (Weingarten) Mamlin in Richmond, Virginia. Marcia grew up in Dallas,Texas and graduated from Hillcrest High School. She attended Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M Commerce, and The University of North Texas. Marcia began her career in retail fashion and soon after, moved into real estate. After marrying David Blackburn and living overseas for six years, they returned to The United States where she resumed her career as a real estate broker. Marcia had many interests throughout her life. She had a special passion for Chinese Art, Native American Culture, and small animals, especially her four legged family members over the years. Marcia also had an amazing talent for drawing, painting, and sculpture.

She is survived by her loving husband David Blackburn of Plano, Texas; son, Lester L. Blakely III and wife Debbie; daughter Kathleen A. Oliver and husband Danny of Plano; grandchildren, Preston, Victoria, Samantha, Kathleen, and Julia; mother, Ethel Mamlin of Plano; brother Gary Mamlin of Chicago; sister Sharon O'Hara and husband Dan of Plano; nephew Ryan; niece Molly; and her extended family in The United Kingdom.

Marcia was preceded in death by her father, Albert Jay Mamlin.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to one of the following: The Arthritis Foundation www.arthritis.org or The Alzheimer Association www.alz.org.
