Marcelene Dorothy Myers

Marcie, 75, of Allen, TX, died March 30, 2012, at her home after a prolonged illness. She was born to Edward and Ida Laverdure, as their youngest daughter, on December 19, 1936. Marcie attended St. Boniface and graduated from Heelan High School, Sioux City, IA in 1955. In 1956 she married the late Glenn Myers of Ponca, NE.  They were married 43 years until his death in 2000.  Before moving to Allen, they resided in Garland, TX for many years. Marcie obtained an Associate's Degree in 1978, beginning her 20 year career with the IRS in the personnel department. 

She made many friends during her tenure, as well as, receiving numerous achievement awards.  After retirement, the real fun began. She then discovered her love of travelling; touring Europe with Angela, cruising Alaska, the Caribbean, New England & Canada, luaus in the Hawaiian Islands, margaritas in Mexico and rediscovering her childhood at Disneyworld.  When not travelling, Marcie enjoyed her time spent with many friends at the Sr. Center. 

Preceded in death are her siblings, Joe, Francis, Evelyn Lavedure and Evangline Satterly.

Marcie is survived by her 3 sons & their wives, Dr. Jeffrey Myers (Teresa) of Garland, TX, Bruce Myers (Sheri) of McKinney, TX and Michael Myers (Charlotte) of Plano, TX, her adored 3 grandchildren, Angela, Jason & Adrienne Myers; 3 great-grandchildren, Bradley, Patience, and Lacy Stovall; 1 sister, Roseanne Ash of Sioux City, IA.  

Friends & family are welcome to celebrate & remember Marcie at her visitation Tues, April 3rd, 6-8pm; a rosary begins at 7 pm, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at St. Jude's Catholic Church, Allen, TX, on Wed., at 1:30 pm,  on April 4th.  Interment is at Calvary Hill Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of N. Texas, 12801 North Central Expressway, #270, Dallas, Texas 75243.
