Maevene Petty, age 84, of Winnsboro, Texas, formerly of Princeton, Texas, passed away March 23, 2011, in Winnsboro. Maevene was born May 14, 1926, in Simms, Texas, to James Ithema and Demaris Ozella (Launiaus) Baird. She married Wilburn Franklin Petty on June 16, 1945, in Texarkana, Arkansas. Maevene was an artist, quilter, loved the outdoors, especially gardening and fishing. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Moore and husband, Cotton of Winnsboro, Texas; son, Lenoye Petty, also of Winnsboro; grandchildren, Julie Ovard and husband, Christopher of Van, Texas, Chris Petty of Seagoville, Texas, Kim LaRose and husband, Richard of Winnsboro, Texas, and Robin Petty of Pittsburg, Texas; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Robbie Petty, and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Coldwater Baptist Church in Winnsboro, Texas. Interment will be held on Saturday at 3:30 p.m., at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
