Luther “Ferrell” Trammell, age 92, of Lucas, Texas, passed away September 14, 2013, in Lucas, Texas. He was born September 6, 1921, in Wylie, Texas, to Luther David and Mamie Ellen (Russell) Trammell. On August 6, 1961, Ferrell married Doris Jean Braswell, in Dallas, Texas. He grew up in Collin County, Texas and went to school at Clear Lake. Ferrell worked as a heavy equipment operator for most of his life. He enjoyed racing stock cars, fishing, hunting and working in his garden.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna Boyette of Lucas, Texas; son-in-law, Clarence Schmid of Lucas, Texas; grandchildren, Monette Powers and husband Murphy, Cynthia Sandlin and husband Billy, Vickie Schmid, Heather Fischer and husband Scott; great-grandchildren, B.J. Sandlin, Rebecca Powers, Nathan Powers and Jordan Fischer; fiancé, Rexine Perritte; nephew, Ron Trammell and his wife Rita; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Ferrell is preceded in death by his parents, Luther David and Mamie Ellen Trammell; wife, Doris Jean Trammell; daughter, Glenda Schmid; brother, L.W. Trammell; and sister, Gazelle Anglin.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
